Want to see a crazy video of the song Stephanie made up for Jenny's boyfriend? It's on youtube - but of course, me being the idiot that I am, can only give you the link and even that might not work! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFr24aNycZU If it doesn't, try typing in "Adam's Birthday Song" or awsomenerdlaura in the search bar when you get to youtube. The one you want shows a blurry Stephanie, Amy and Michelle on the start up picture. It's only had about 12 or 13 hits, so it's not that popular! Check it out for a fun laugh!
Everyone was home for a week before Christmas. Then Jenny jilted us and moved to Lethbridge. She spent Christmas with her "boyfriend's" family. We had a fun week together before she left.
The day after Christmas, Mark and I left for 5 days in Regina. He had a Lifeguarding course to take. I spent one day at the temple, I went to church, I shopped around - at 4 different dollar stores (I must say, surprise, surprise - Canada's dollar stores are better than the dollar stores in the States!) Okay, so two of the stores were true dollar stores and the other two were dollar plus more stores.
I also spent a whole day going through my myriads of picture files, trying to organize them - I took my laptop and external harddrive. I also read a couple of books, froze my butt off, drove around Regina, finding all kinds of interesting places to shop. Like the Sally-Ann, Value Village, Sears outlet/discount store, and another discount store that Becky told me about.
I also saw Becky! Actually I woke her up and made her get her lazy butt out of bed - it was after 9 and I thought for sure she'd be up. Nope - she was hibernating, which is exactly what you are suppose to do when you live in Canada in the winter! (I'd lost her phone number, but still had her address) We had a fun visit, Becky always knows how to make you laugh and have fun, even if it was freezing out.
Mark and I came home on Dec. 31 in a storm. I didn't care what the roads were like, I was sick of Regina, the weird lady's house we'd rented a couple of rooms from and I missed my family! The roads were pretty bad in places. Drifting across - I mean BIG drifts - all across one of the lanes, ice and blowing, swirling snow. But we made it home and still had our own fun New Year's Eve party.
Since then - it's been FREEZING out. So cold that our Stake cancelled church, well it was the first day of the new year and all, why not!? I spent the day hibernating - nice!
Only January, February, March, April and May before spring! Yippee!

Taken in mid-Nov. It started getting REALLY cold soon after. All the walls are up and most of the front is finished, we still have the roof to do, but that's now going to have to wait because we have about a foot of snow (more in places) and your skin will freeze in seconds (some days) if you're outside for more than 2 seconds at a time!
