We missed Girls Camp in the summer, so we had our own. We called it Camp What Are Your Values. We camped at a nearby lake for two nights. It was a lot of fun and a nice get away. Meanwhile, Don stayed home convelessing with Mark and Scott and together they celebrated Mark's 17th Birthday with a trip to the ER, movie and dinner. Don had infected bursitisis on his knee.
At Camp WAVE we lounged, went swimming, went on a hike, rolled down a big hill, enjoyed the stars, ate lots of yummy food and played at the play ground, oh and don't forget the skits - we did them too! We had a "secret sister" gift and note and we stumped each other on who our secret sister really was.
We left early on the second day because the weather turned cloudy and rainy, but at least the rain sent the neighbors who were gearing up for an all night party into their tents and consequently to sleep! (Now I just hope I can figure out how to post more than one picture at a time!)
This was back in the summer when we were still compacting the ground for the lot. Don came up with this idea to save back breaking labor and time. We were all so glad. More lot photos to come - but don't be holding your breathe!

Scott's 14th Birthday. He wanted Cheese Cake. Maybe you can see the cookies and banana muffins on the counter in the back ground? I made about a billion of those that day too. Scott played his new "Fire Emblem" wii game all evening and enjoyed eating this yummy cake. We had his favorite, roast beef, mashed potatoes and "good" gravy to go with it. He also got a new pillow. At first it was pretty tough to let go of the OLD one, we all know how hard it is to say good bye to an old friend, but in Scott's case, it truly was not good-bye but rather, good riddance! His pillow was just a jumbled up lump of stuffing inside a sewed up cover. It didn't even look or feel like a pillow. Three nights later, he came into my room hugging his new pillow, smiling from ear to ear and said, "I like this pillow. I actually use one now!" When Scott actually acknowledges that he likes something, it's a profound moment because he's pretty easy going and doesn't share his opinions too often. I guess that 1/2 hour I spent at the Tuesday Morning store testing out EVERY pillow in the place to find him the right one (for the "right" price) was time well spent. Good night everyone, sleep tight and don't let those bed bugs bite!
This kind of scene has become a regular in the past few years around our house. It was a group date that started out at the Duck Park and ended up at our house. They made and ate pizza, played a game, and carved ice cream sculptures of their dates and they stayed until 11:30. Mark's friends know when to go home, unlike Jenny's friends!

Amy wanted a DORK stamp from her band teacher, and although he himself didn't give her the stamp, she did it herself, he owns the stamp! Apparently a number of kids had "Dork" stamped across their foreheads and the principle wasn't too happy. It's more interesting to watch her get all worked up. I'd rather see "dork" stamped across a kid's forehead than some obscene words or symbols splashed across their t-shirts or their butts popping out.

What's new? Scott is mad because I won't let him watch any more Avatar today and I make him wear his bike helmet to school.
I heard that Dad has a new phone number. It's 306-827-2340. I like that, nice and easy to remember.
He's got a cell phone too, or so I've heard, but I'm too lazy to go look for that number.
I made a beef stew last night for the missionaries. They came and took it home with them.
Mark and Laura are at a friend's B-day party and Mark goes to Jr. Prom tomorrow.

Good Morning everyone!
Remember the Hide and Seek Journal? Well it's just gone digital! I'll probally need some help making this thing "look" good.
Lets keep it in the family until we decide we want to share or until it looks better, whatever.
So as of Sunday, April 13, 2008, Dad, Kristen and Jenny were leaving for Canada, but now they are going to wait until Monday - good.
Scott is off to do Fast Offering and Mom was sick yesterday and still not feeling great today.
